About Tenessa
Tenessa Gemelke got her start in event planning at the age of 14, when she helped run the town parade with her dad. She became drunk with power when she got to drive the golf cart, and she has been chasing that high ever since.
Her event experience has run the gamut—everything from hosting weddings to serving as the director of events at Brain Traffic for many years. Now that she is an independent contractor, her main focus has been on programming and attendee experience at professional conferences like B2B Forum and Button.
The best event Tenessa ever planned was a variety show in a hospital chapel.
Before diving deep into event planning, Tenessa was a book editor for eight years, and she worked on 40 different titles. Her first was The Encyclopedia of Medieval Jewish Civilization, and her last was the second edition of Content Strategy for the Web. In other words, she can geek out about damn near anything.
